Boys & Girls Vintage Desks

I love these old desks. So cute and fun for the little ones
The top is chalkboard. I didn't take before pics.
I wanted to paint on for a little boy. So I choose blue, gray, and white.
I am in love with these colors together.
And who doesn't Love STRIPES. I am obsessed with Stripes and polka dots.
I didn't want the desk to be one color. So I did it two tone.
If my boys were little I would keep this for one of them.

For the little girls I choose Pink and Turquoise.
I also love these colors together.
It seemed kind a plain with just pink and turquoise::))
So I decided to add some GIRLEE cuteness.
I added this cute lace print stencil to the desk and to the chair. I choose white because it's both feminine and manly depending on what you add it too. I am obsessed with white lately. We are currently remodeling our railing and getting a mantle....can u guess what color they are? I am also redoing our family picture wall. The picture frames are also going to be this color? You will have to check back to see.

NOT A Little Girl!

My neighbor wanted a desk for her daughters room. She asked me if I could find a desk and chair. She wanted the desk white, because her husband had recently repainted her room in hot pink and green. I found the fabric at JoAnnes, it went so wonderfully with the colors in her room. I love this chair all the details on the legs. The desk was so fun to make. The back is an old window pain, with a mirror, dry erase board, magnet board, and two cork boards covered in fabric with ribbon.
Her daughter was so excited and really LOVED it.

GIRLIE DESK and CHAIR

This is the BEFORE of Girlie Desk and Chair and the Polka Dot Desk and Chair.
One day searching on Tatertots and Jello I saw a teacher had ReDone an old desk with the table attached in turquoise and red for her classroom. I ABSOLUTELY fell in love with the two colors together. So on one of my many trips to JoAnnes I found this fabric in the scrapbin-SCORE!! Instantly thought back to the desk I had seen on Tatertots and Jello.
I added the fabric on the top of the desk to give it some PIZZAZZ and to tie in the fabric from the cushion on the chair!! Isn't that Flower the CUTEST-I like it ALOT! When I do ReDo furniture for little girls it makes me wish I could keep it and one day use it! So this is another Favorite I used Krylon spray paint in Red Pepper and Aquamarine. The colors together are ADORABLE.(Don't mind the over spray in the grass) This desk is for SALE. If interest contact Ashley at bnaclaw@msn.com This and the Polka Dot desk and chair will be at a Scraps of Simplicity Boutique this Saturday October 16 from 10am until 4pm @ Old School Body Shop 1571 S. 1900 W. West Haven These items are for SALE, contact Ashley at bnaclaw@msn.com

POLKA DOT Desk and Chair

So my inspiration for this desk and chair all started with the FABRIC as most of my projects do. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE POLKA DOTS. When I saw this I was a little giddy with excitement for #1 it is so hard to find cute BOY fabrics(I would know because I have two boys) and #2 I love the shades of the green in the DOTS. I didn't want to spray paint this chair because I was going for something different and new. I thought why not cover the chair with fabric. So I went to Wal-Mart looking for spray adhesive and found Elmers spray adhesive-can be used on fabric. So I bought it and came home and sprayed the seat and back rest and covered with the fabric. Wasn't sure how it would turn out but, I have to say FABULOUS!! The color I choose to spray paint was with KRYLON Navy and Ivy Leaf. I love the two colors together they just POP and with the POLK DOT Fabric it is tOO cute. Any boy would be lucky to have this as a homework station.
